DOOM: The Dark Ages is a single-player first-person shooter and prequel to DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal that tells a cinematic origin story for the Doom Slayer. Set in a dark medieval war against Hell on Argent D'Nur, it features slower, grounded combat focused on standing and fighting, with the Shield Saw for blocking and parrying, new melee weapons, familiar guns like the Super Shotgun, and the ability to ride a cybernetic dragon or pilot a massive mech.

Update GPU drivers to the latest Game Ready or recommended version for DOOM: The Dark Ages, then reboot the system before launching the game to reduce startup crashes.
Change the Resolution Scaling Mode from Dynamic to Static in the graphics settings to recover FPS lost after the latest NVIDIA driver or DLC update.

On Linux with Proton, rename the amd_fidelityfx_vk.dll file in the amd-ffx folder so path tracing stops using the problematic library and the game can launch.
