Counter-Strike 2 is the next major evolution of Valve’s iconic competitive shooter, delivered as a free upgrade to CS:GO. Built on the Source 2 engine, it introduces realistic physically based rendering, state of the art networking, and enhanced Community Workshop tools while preserving the classic objective driven gameplay first established in 1999. The game adds an updated Premier mode with all new CS Ratings, complete with global and regional leaderboards, along with upgraded and reworked maps, dynamic smoke grenades that react to the environment, tick rate independent gameplay for consistent responsiveness, redesigned visual and audio effects, and full progression of all existing CS:GO items into CS2.
