S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is an open world first person survival shooter set in a dark, post apocalyptic version of the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. Built in Unreal Engine 5 by GSC Game World, it mixes action, horror, and immersive sim elements as you scavenge for equipment and resources while exploring the dangerous Anomalous Zone. You play as a stalker named Skif, facing lethal anomalies, mutants, and rival factions, making tough choices to stay alive and uncover valuable wonders hidden in the ruins.

- Open the game's DLC management page in Steam.
- Uncheck the Cost of Hope DLC to remove it.
- Restart Steam.
- Re-check the DLC to trigger a fresh download, which can fix the mounting failure.
Turn off frame generation options in the graphics settings if enabled, as this may prevent the GPU crash dump and allow saves to load without crashing.
Restart the PC completely before relaunching the game to clear driver and GPU state, which can stop repeated crash dumps in some cases.

Delete or rename the winmm.dll file in Steam\steamapps\common\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl\Stalker2\Binaries\Win64, then launch the game, exit to menu, and remove the renamed file to fix crashes caused by the Achievements Enabler mod.
Delete any leftover mod files, including those in the game folder and AppData, and perform a clean reinstall of the game before compiling shaders again.
