About this game

Valheim is a brutal co-op and solo exploration survival game for 1 to 10 players, set in a vast, procedurally generated world rooted in Norse mythology. As a viking warrior in Odin’s service, you will sail treacherous seas, roam distinct biomes filled with unique enemies and resources, and uncover hidden secrets. Gather materials to craft weapons, armor, tools, ships, and defenses, and raise customizable longhouses or entire villages using a flexible building system that respects structural integrity and ventilation. Combat is stamina based and rewards preparation, timing, and smart use of weapon types, blocks, dodges, and parries. A generous food system grants health, stamina, and regeneration bonuses instead of punishing hunger. Face challenging bosses whose defeat unlocks new recipes and blueprints. Play on player hosted dedicated servers with unlimited world creation, and choose from officially supported languages plus several ongoing community made translations of varying completeness.

Bugs, Crashes & Solutions

  • Back up the world and character data.
  • Remove all BepInEx plugins and launch the server in an unmodded state.
  • Confirm that the vanilla 1.0 server starts and accepts a connection.
  • Reinstall only mods explicitly updated for 1.0, adding them in small batches to identify incompatible plugins.
Start a new world if the northern terrain was already explored and the Deep North has not generated correctly; otherwise back up the existing world and test the update on a copy.
  • Make a copy of the entire save folder before attempting recovery.
  • Use the world and character menus to move the affected save to local or cloud storage.
  • Exit the game completely and relaunch it to finish the conversion.
  • Perform the conversion with all mods disabled.
Update the dedicated server before updating or reconnecting clients, then restart Steam and verify Valheim's files so the client and server report the same build.
